Why Drink Golden Milk Latte?
Because it is DELICIOUS. Seriously. Nut milk is an excellent vehicle for anti-inflammatory turmeric spice.This Golden Milk Latte is made with a cashew milk and coconut milk base combined with the perfect balance of earthy turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper and a touch of honey. Warm, frothy and nut milk makes for an easy to digest- comforting latte that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Hygee out with a warm Golden Milk Latte to get cozy, slow things down in the evening, de-stress and unwind for the day. It also taste amazing cold. Opt for a cool version, just pour over ice, maybe with a scoop protein powder after a good workout for a protein packed, anti-inflammatory recovery drink.
Turmeric has an earthy, somewhat minty flavor- delicious when paired with creamy nut milk, sweet honey, good fat- from coconut milk and a pinch of black pepper for digestive synergy. The black pepper in the recipe assists in the absorption of the active chemical component, curcumin, which allows the curcumin to bounce into action.

Turmeric’s main compound curcumin is really who deserves the spotlight, curcumin has amazing good-for-you health benefits including anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antimicrobial actions. It has traditionally been used in Ayurvedic Medicine, known as the “healing spice”, used for lots of different ailments including common cold, flu, wound healing, and headaches.
Curcumin, exerts anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting molecules that play an important role in inflammation, reducing swelling and preventing atherosclerosis, the build up of fatty deposits on the artery walls. Turmeric is also well know for cancer prevention, improving liver function and its digestive perks; stimulating bile production-increasing the ability to metabolize fats.

- 2 cups of Homemade Cashew Milk, strained
- 2 tablespoon Coconut Milk Powder*
- 1 teaspoon of Honey, or Maple Syrup
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon Ginger powder or fresh ginger
- Pinch of black pepper and cardamom
- In small saucepan over low-medium heat strained cashew milk** add in all spices (wait on the honey).
- Whisk together nut milk and spices, continuing to whisk often until milk starts to steam turning a rich “Golden” color.
- Remove from heat. Stir in honey while hot.
- Enjoy warm or Let cool and serve over ice.
- *Coconut milk powder is a versatile option, that taste great but you can always use 8oz. canned light coconut milk it’s place. If you do cut the cashew milk in half = 1 cup cashew milk. Any variation of nut milk works well, explore different combinations.
- **Cashew milk if un-strained can create a grainy texture to latte, strain with a cheesecloth or wait until the cashew milk settles and separates using the liquid from the top for this recipe.Other nut milks could be substituted as well.
