The latest non-dairy, milk alternative, oat milk!
What is Oat Milk?
So we have heard of almond milk, cashew milk allow me to introduce you to oat milk. Oat milk is a dairy alternative milk make from blending oats and water, simple enough!
Oat Milk is unique from nut milks because it is made from the oat grain. Oats contains a group of fibers called beta-glucans giving the milk a gel-like consistency and neutral tasting. Oat milk is nut free and can be gluten free so long as the oats are certified gluten free.
Oat milk has about 2 grams of protein while soy milk or cow’s milk are much higher in protein. Especially to my vegans and vegetarians, seek out additional sources of protein from peanut butter, chia seeds, quinoa, chickpea or soy foods like tofu or soybeans.
